Clayton, MO (KSDK) - A guilty plea from a man accused of running over an employee's foot after getting the wrong order at a sandwich shop last summer.

20 year old William Hampel of Brentwood entered his plea to assault charges February 28th, however on-line court records were only updated this week.

Hampel entered the guilty plea to reduced charges after prosecutors say he was angered after a worker from the Jimmy John's restaurant in Brentwood delivered the wrong sandwich to Hampel at his car.

Police say the employee offered to exchange the sandwich or return Hampel's money during the July 2, 2012 incident, but Hampel refused and drove off.

Authorities say Hampel returned to the business later, causing a disturbance before leaving a second time in his car.

That's when police say an employee who followed Hampel to his car was slightly injured by Hampel's fleeing vehicle.

Hampel was ordered to serve five years probation as well as attendance at anger management classes.
