FORISTELL, Mo. (KSDK) - So far, the heaviest snow is falling in the western areas of the metro.
St. Charles and Warren counties are dealing with some of the worst of it.
NewsChannel 5's Alex Fees was at TA Truck Stop on I-70.
Many professional drivers of over-the-road 18-wheelers have decided to hang it up and wait this one out, and the TA Truck Stop is packed with truckers who are parked. They have decided in some cases to skip a day of pay for their own safety.
The ones who are heading back out on the road say they haven't been waiting for a break in the weather. They just pull-off and take a break to give road crews a chance to catch-up with the snow and clear the way.
Inside the truck stops clerks could be heard telling people on the telephone, I-70 is passable, but "you just gotta take easy."
If you have to travel Sunday night, caution is in order.
