ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The widow of a man killed on the job last summer has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the construction company her husband worked for and the City of St. Charles.

KCI Construction Co. Inc., a St. Louis-based company, was the project's general contractor and was cited with a serious violation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in February. Bridgeton-based Coatings Unlimited Inc. was also cited by OSHA for 14 violations.

Debra Webb filed the suit in the Circuit Court of St. Charles County.  It states Coatings Unlimited, Inc. and KCI Construction Company violated OSHA rules.

Stevie Webb, Sr., 53, of House Springs, died in August 2012 inside an 18-foot-deep vault manhole while building the Boschertown sanitary sewer lift station.

He was exposed to methyl ethyl ketone and collapsed and died.

Webb was the father of two children, who are also plaintiffs in the lawsuit.
