RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Two people are in police custody after an overnight crime spree in central Missouri involving a suspicious death.

KOMU-TV reports Moberly police said it began when two men shoplifted from a Walmart Sunday night. They left the store in a stolen vehicle from Macon.

Macon police recovered that vehicle.

Shortly after it was found, the Randolph County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene of a vehicle fire. Deputies then were called to a report of an accident on County Road 2515. Then, they received a report of two people shot off Route D. The victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Their conditions were unknown.

Moberly police said a truck belonging to one of the shooting victims was stolen and crashed.

Randolph County deputies were then called to a residence on Route BB for reports of an assault and stolen vehicle. Authorities are looking for a white Saturn VUE with license plate FA6T3E.

Randolph County deputies were also called to a residence in Higbee where several guns were stolen around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Moberly police tried to contact the owner of the stolen vehicle because the vehicle had been set on fire. Police went to the home and found a 92-year-old person dead.

The person's name has not been released. Authorities are calling it suspicious.
