Power lines down, water covering roads in St. Charles County

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - St. Charles County received some damage from the storms that moved through the area Wednesday night.

Colene McEntee, Public Affairs Coordinator for St. Charles County Government, says power poles are down near Josephsville and Guthrie Road is closed between Hancock and Meico roads.

Some power poles and wires are down along Highway 94 east of Portage des Sioux. The highway is block east of Portage des Sioux. The Missouri Department of Transportation is aware of the situation, but there is no estimated time of arrival on the scene.

Water is covering Highway H at Highway 94, and some utility lines are down in Dardenne Prairie, St. Peters, O'Fallon, and unincorporated St. Charles County.

There have also been lightning strikes in Lake St. Louis, Dardenne Prairie, Cottleville, and unincorporated St. Charles County.

No injuries have been reported.

Gov. Nixon declared a state of emergency in Missouri Wednesday night and will tour affected areas Thursday.
