ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay toured the storm damage in the historic Hill neighborhood.
Roofs from homes were ripped off and scattered throughout the area. Trees were knocked down and insulation was scattered on the ground. A large tree fell and crushed a car.

City work crews were out all night following Wednesday's storm to clear the streets.

"At 8:08 p.m. is when we got the notice from the National Weather Service that there was a tornado warning for the City of St. Louis," said Mayor Slay. "Immediately there after, the sirens went off and they were working."
