FRANKLIN COUNTY (KSDK) - The National Weather Service has released a new damage report stating an EF1 tornado touched down in Franklin County, Mo. Wednesday night as storms moved through the area.
The NWS says it touched down at 7:38 p.m. in the Labadie Bottoms north of St. Albans and lifted one minute later after traveling 1.5 miles east/northeast across St. Albans Island.

Extensive tree damage was found along this path that had a width of 200 yards.
Wind speeds are estimated to have been up to 100 miles per hour.

No one was seriously injured.
Gov. Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency Wednesday night after an EF2 tornado touched down in Hazelwood Wednesday night, and an EF0 tornado touched down in The Hill neighborhood in the City of St. Louis.
He toured the damage on Thursday and promised state support to help residents rebuild their community.

Mayor Francis Slay toured the damage on The Hill Thursday morning. Forty-eight homes were damaged there, one of which was condemned. Three businesses were also damaged.
Straight-line winds and three microbursts are said to be responsible for damage along a 30 mile path from Union to Chesterfield.
