ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Omaha, Neb. has been chosen as the host city for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.
The announcement was made Saturday afternoon by USA Swimming.
Omaha was one of three finalists, beating out St. Louis and San Antonio.

This event is the biggest swimming event in the country and where the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swim Team will be chosen.
Omaha has hosted the last two U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. In 2012, more than 164,000 fans attended the competition.
The trials could be held in early July 2016, but exact dates have not been determined. The 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held August 5 - 21 in Rio de Janeiro.
