ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - This week, More than two-thirds of the U.S. Senate sent a bi-partisan letter to the President Obama asking him to get directly involved in ending the huge backlog of veterans' disability claims, more than 882,000.

Some veterans wait more than a year to have disability claims resolved.

Marine veteran James Sperry, who served in Iraq, and Army veteran Albert Boyd, who served in Vietnam, joined NewsChannel 5's Art Holliday Friday night to talk about new policies being put in place to expedite post-traumatic stress disorder disability claims.

We invited a local representative from the Department of Veterans Affairs, but there was a scheduling conflict.
