Stanton, MO (KSDK) - A one vehicle collision on Interstate 44 Sunday afternoon had left two women from Oklahoma injured at a St. Louis hospital.
Missouri Highway patrol officials say around 5:20 p.m. yesterday a westbound pick-up truck driven by Jennifer Watkins, 24 of McAlester went out of control just east of Stanton and slammed into a large rock on the side of the highway.
The impact flipped the truck upside down, leaving Watkins seriously injured. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
A passenger in the vehicle, kendra Bernhardt, of Shawnee was less severely injured in the collision. She was wearing a seat belt according to the patrol report.
Both women were taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
