ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Money, military medals, and jewels, are part of what you'll find in unclaimed property at the Missouri treasurer's office.

NewsChannel 5 teamed up with the Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel's office, hoping to help return millions of dollars in unclaimed property. From family heirlooms to cold hard cash, there's all sorts of unclaimed property Zweifel's office would like to see returned to its rightful owner.

"I think one of the most interesting items, aside from the military medals which are always interesting, is a civil war mustard role of individuals who had served in the civil war, so it's a cloth list that actually lists those individuals," said Treasurer Zweifel.

Members of the state treasurer's office were in our studio to help find your unclaimed property.

There were 1,745 searches, and 878 matches for unclaimed property. We found a total of $155,720.06 for viewers. The largest amount claimed was for $10,500. The woman that money belongs to plans to use it for a vacation.
