PERCY, Illinois (KSDK) -- A preliminary coroner's office ruling says the four children killed in a house fire in Percy, Illinois, died from smoke inhalation.
Ethan, 12, Kailey, 9, and twins Brandon and Landon Owen, 5, did not make it out of the burning home.
The coroner says it appears they died from smoke inhalation.
The children's parents, another child and an 18 year-old woman escaped the fire.
Derrick Twardoski, 33, is charged with first degree murder. Police aren't saying what, if any connection, he has to the Owen family. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
