GREENE COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) -- Illinois State Police say a Kane, Illinois, couple are dead after the motorcycle they were riding was struck from behind.
The accident happened when a driver of a vehicle failed to stop at a traffic light at Kane Road on US 67 southbound on Saturday night just after 7:00.
The Harley Davidson was stopped, attempting to make a lefthand turn from US 67 southbound onto Kane Road.
A Dodge Ram crashed into the rear of the Harley, throwing the driver and passenger from the motorcycle.
The driver, 46, and the passenger, 42, of the Harley, were identified as Henry and Jennifer Rethorn. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge, identified as Adam Devening, 21, was not hurt and was wearing a seatbelt.
According to a crash report neither the driver or passenger of the Harley were wearing a helmet.
Devening was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The crash investigation is ongoing and NewsChannel 5 will bring you more information as it becomes available.
