FENTON, Mo. (KSDK) - A seventh grader at Rockwood South Middle School earned a perfect score of 800 on the math section of the SAT. He took the exam earlier this year alongside high school students.
In addition to this accomplishment, Alan Peng also earned a first place finish on the Missouri team at the national MATHCOUNTS competition in Washington D.C. After finishing third in the Missouri competition, Peng qualified for the national competition where he came in 29th place.
Next year, Peng plans to take calculus for college credit.
On May 16, Peng will be recognized for his academic achievements at the Board of Education Awards Ceremony.
Peng has also played a Beethoven selection on the piano while blindfolded and learned how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide before and during kindergarten.
