St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A man who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing his estranged wife in front of the couple's seven year old son will spend the next 25 years in prison.
William Allen Owens of Wentzville pleaded guilty to charges related to the crime in March and learned his punishment on Wednesday in St. Louis Circuit Court.
Owens was charged in the March 2009 stabbing death of 33 year old Paula Jo Jones of Berkeley, who was killed while she and the child were riding in a car with Owens.
The victim of the crime had gotten a restraining order against Owens just ten days prior to the fatal attack.
Owens admitted guilt to charges of second degree murder, armed criminal action, and child endangerment.
