COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is reopening a few major roadways as floodwaters recede in counties along the Mississippi River.

According to an IDOT spokesperson, southbound US Highway 67 in Alton across the Clark Bridge is reopening, as well as Kaskaskia Street in Chester and IL 100 from Hardin to Kampsville.

However, IDOT announced the following continued closures: the Brussels Ferry, IL 100 from IL 3 (Grafton) to IL 16 (Hardin), and the IL 3 bypass in Randolph County. Detours have put in place at these locations to circumvent each closure.

IDOT will monitor state roadways in Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Madison and Randolph counties over the next several days in determining future closures and openings. Commuters can visit the department's website for the latest information on closures.
