O'FALLON, Ill. (KSDK) - A 32-year-old O'Fallon, Illinois man was charged Friday for allegedly leaving his 23-month-old son in a hot car, leading to the child's death.
On Thursday, O'Fallon police received a call about an infant under the age of two was who left in a vehicle when the temperature was above 90 degrees. It happened in the 300 block of Joy Drive around 5 p.m.
The child's mother found the boy in the vehicle after she arrived home and the father could not remember where the child was.
According to documents from the St. Clair County Circuit Court, the father, Wayne Hubert, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter of a family member and two counts of endangering the life of a child. Prosecutors said Hubert was found to be intoxicated at the time.
Hubert remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
