FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KSDK) - The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged a 20-year-old Wrens, Georgia man last week for alleged criminal sexual abuse involving a 15-year-old female.
According to Lt. Steve Evans, a spokesman for the Fairview Heights Police Department, police began investigating the matter in the early morning hours of June 27. The incident took place at the Trailways Motel in the 10000 block of Lincoln Trail.
Parents of the 15-year-old victim became worried after they couldn't find her throughout the evening the night before. When she arrived home after 1 a.m. on June 27, her parents asked about her activities and learned she was at the Trailways Motel with the suspect, identified as Maurice Jackson.
Fairview Heights police arrested Jackson at 6:15 a.m. that day without incident.
Authorities said the motel is typically a home for people coming from out of state for work.
Maurice Jackson was charged June 28 with aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He remains jailed on $75,000 bond.
