ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A woman says she was kicked out of a Missouri water park because of her bikini.
Madelyn Sheaffer says she was kicked out of the Adventure Oasis Water Park in Independence after she refused to put on shorts to cover her bikini. She believes she was unfairly singled out.
NewsChannel 5 took the story to Donna Smith, General Manager of Raging Rivers Water Park in Grafton, Illinois, and she said she doesn't get what the fuss was about.
"That suit would have passed here," says Donna Smith. "We did not see the back of that suit. The only thing is if she would have had a thong or a brazilian cut, she would have been asked to cover up."
Several guests at Raging Rivers weighed in as well.
"I do not think it's too revealing. I have seen a lot of people in suits like that. Everybody has a different shape and size and I think some people have more that is exposed, not necessarily intentional," says Kathy Range.
"I think it's just a personal choice as long as it's not something offensive like thongs. I've been coming here and I only remember one time that I saw something I thought was a little too risque and I do believe she was asked to leave," adds Rita Hill.
Donna Smith says they only deal with a few people who are inappropriately dressed every season, and that the guests are the best swimwear police.
