CALHOUN COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) - The search resumed today for the woman who fell over the side of the Golden Eagle Ferry into the Mississippi river yesterday.
The Captain of the ferry saw an unidentified woman in her 60's go over the side of the ferry just after leaving the banks around 4 p.m. Friday and called the authorities.
Crews spent yesterday afternoon looking for the woman but called off the search at nightfall.
Firefighters say the ferry has security gates on all sides and that it would be very hard to accidentally fall off.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coast Guard at 314-269-2463.
