BAGHDAD (AP) - Iraqi security forces have locked down areas around the infamous Abu Ghraib prison and another high-security detention facility on Baghdad's outskirts to hunt for escaped inmates and militants.
Hundreds of detainees escaped after insurgents stormed the two prisons last night, firing mortar shells and detonating bombs. Officials say dozens were killed, including at least 25 members of the Iraqi security forces.
Attacks elsewhere claimed at least 18 more lives on Monday, many of them soldiers.
