MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. (CNN) - A New York man is heading to an Arizona jail cell after allegedly stalking and threatening to kill two nationally-known TV anchorwomen.
David Simpson, 48, waived his right to fight extradition after being arrested with numerous weapons.
The Maricopa County sheriff's office says Simpson was driving south from Bath, N.Y. with guns, binoculars, zip ties, a knife, and a police radio.
They say he threatened to tie the two anchorwomen to a tree naked and "leave them to suffer all night" before slitting their throats.
Police say Simpson was angry about the two TV personalities' coverage of the Jodi Arias trial, in which she was found guilty of murdering her ex-boyfriend in Arizona.
Police say Simpson made the threats in front of co-workers and on social media.
