TAMPA, Fla. (WTSP) - A former pro wrestler who plied his craft in Missouri is accused of first-degree murder in Florida.
Hillsborough, Florida deputies say 29-year-old Brian McGhee killed his ex-girlfriend Bianca McGaughey at an apartment complex in Eagle Lake around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
McGaughey had been stabbed multiple times. She died at the scene.
The sheriff's office says they tracked McGhee to his apartment just down the road. He then allegedly took off in his car, leading deputies on a chase.
That pursuit ended when McGhee crashed on Interstate 75, just west of Dade City. A K-9 helped get the suspect in custody after he refused to put his hands in the air. McGhee was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
As a wrestler, McGhee went by the stage name "The Future" Donovan Ruddick. He wrestled in St. Louis as recently as late 2010. He last competed as "DT Porter" at the WWE's developmental company, NXT Wrestling.
Investigators say McGhee and McGaughey stopped dating about a year ago, but McGhee continued to have contact with the victim.
