WASHINGTON (KSDK) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced a recall of frozen chicken meals because of an undeclared allergen.
Traditions, based out of Pearl, Miss., is recalling 2,486 pounds of a chicken that is sold in a three compartment tray called "Lemon Pepper Chicken Breast filet with Rib Meat Smoke Flavor Added/Mixed Vegetables/Basil and Garlic Fettuccine. The meals have an establishment number of "P-13850" inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were produced and packaged on Oct. 5, 2012, Dec. 19, 2012, and Jan. 28, 2013.
The meals are recalled because they contain milk, a known allergen, and it is not declared on the label. The problem was discovered during a routine label review. The FSIS has not received any reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of the meals.
