North St. Louis standoff ends

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A standoff prompted by a man allegedly shooting at his neighbor has ended.

Police were called to a home in the 5000 block of Aubert Avenue, near Hooke Avenue, in the Mark Twain neighborhood shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

A man said he had argued with his 63-year-old neighbor, who got a gun and fire a shot at his home. The victim told police the neighbor went inside his home, came back out with a machete, and when he saw police arriving, he ran back inside.

The standoff lasted two hours, and the 63-year-old man surrendered peacefully.

No one was injured.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
