FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. - Fort Leonard Wood's east gate is closed due to high water from excessive rainfall and runoff.
Officials say the roads in the area are subject to flooding and should be avoided.
Flash flooding in south-central Missouri Tuesday has left a 4-year-old boy dead and forced dozens of other people out of their homes.
Individuals are urged to take the following precautions when flash flooding is imminent:
-Be aware of signs of heavy rain
-Move to higher ground if rapidly rising water is seen or heard
-Do not attempt to cross the flowing water
