ROODHOUSE, Ill. (AP) - A western Illinois couple says they might buy a new vehicle and fix up their house now that they've won $6.2 million in the Illinois Lottery.
The (Alton) Telegraph reports that Terry and Ramona Barnett of rural Roodhouse in Greene County were introduced Tuesday as the holders of the winning ticket bought last month at a convenience store.
The pair opted to take the lump-sum payment, which amounts to slightly less than $4 million after taxes.
The couple says getting a new vehicle is a possibility, given that the one they have now has logged more than 200,000 miles.
