ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The westbound side of Blanchette Bridge is one step closer to reopening to traffic.
The Missouri Department of Transportation hELD a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for a new span of the bridge. Friday afternoon, crews startED to shift traffic back onto the westbound end of the river.
Drivers should be able to use the new bridge on Aug. 16. The goal is for five lanes in each direction to be open to traffic by the end of the month.
The project cost an estimated $64 million.
