LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Police say a Lincoln County, Mo. volunteer firefighter arrested for arson last week has confessed to setting 10 other fires in the area.
Dustin Matthew Grigsby, 19, was taken into custody Sunday, Aug. 4 for the arson of a building in the 100 block of First Street in Old Monroe.
A series of suspicious fires in the Old Monroe area led investigators to question about 14 unsolved fire cases. Police say Grigsby admitted to setting 11 of the 14 fires. Three of the fires were at occupied homes.
Originally Grigsby was charged with second-degree arson. He now faces seven second-degree arson and four first-degree arson charges. He is still held at the Lincoln County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
