MINERAL WELLS, Texas (WFAA/CNN) - Texas authorities are investigating the death of a woman who was discovered inside a deep freezer.
This is the home in Mineral Wells where the body of 38-year-old Shannon Herrin was found inside a freezer in the garage on Thursday. Her 19-year-old son made the gruesome discovery.
"Her son reported he had come home. At some point either went to get something to eat or retrieve something out there out of the freezer at which time he made the startling discovery of his mother's body inside of that freezer," said Police Chief Dean Sullivan.
Police say they do not know how long Herrin's body was inside the freezer or exactly how she died. They're waiting for the official cause of death.
In the meantime, investigators have arrested Herrin's husband on an undisclosed parole violation related to a drug violation.
