BOONVILLE, Mo. (KSDK) - The Boonville R-1 School Board has hired a consultant out of Columbia, Missouri to investigate allegations relating to the school superintendent at the center of a rodeo clown controversy.
Mark Ficken was the announcer at the Missouri State Fair rodeo where a clown dressed up as President Obama on Saturday, August 10.
Ficken has since resigned as president of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboys Association. His lawyer said it was not his idea to have a clown wear the mask, adding that Ficken was not the one making the comments during the event which some found offensive.
The consultant, Dr. Jim Ritter, will turn his findings over to the board of education, who will review the materials before rending a decision on Ficken's future.
