Pine Lawn, MO (KSDK) - A Pine Lawn policeman is out of the hospital after emergency treatment for an arm injury suffered early Monday during a struggle with an armed man.
The unidentified officer was taken to DePaul Hospital for treatment of a broken arm or wrist according to Pine Lawn authorities.
The officer was hurt after he and a fellow officer stopped a car in the area of Blakemore and Naylor around 1:20 a.m. Monday. The two officers instructed two men in the front seat of the vehicle to get out, when the driver engaged one of the officers in a fight over a weapon.
The officers were able to gain control of the suspects gun and place him and the second man into custody, but not before one of the policeman injured his arm.
A third man in the car police stopped was not detained by police and was allowed to leave. Investigators expect to seek arrest warrants on the other two men later today.
