ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A man accused of throwing a woman out of a vehicle on the highway has been charged.
David Sheridan, 46, is accused of pushing a 34-year-old woman out of a moving vehicle on eastbound Interstate 64 around 11:50 p.m. Saturday.
Police say witnesses saw the woman be thrown from the vehicle while it traveled down the highway. They said the vehicle continued to drive east away from the scene.
Sheridan returned to the area on foot before police arrived. As officers convened on the area, they say Sheridan "became extremely belligerent" and would not follow officers' verbal commands. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree domestic assault, resisting arrest for a felony, and third-degree assault against a law enforcement officer.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
Sheridan is held on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
