ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A former director of finance has been sentenced for fraud.
Ruth Jackson, 47, will spend 34 months in prison for embezzling over $50,000. She diverted checks and money meant for The Flood Team, LLC to herself, and will pay $50,000 in restitution.
The Flood Team, LLC hired Jackson in August 2011 to be the director of finance. Her main responsibilities were paying bills, depositing funds, and managing bank accounts. Court documents state she kept an old corporate account open, and hid it from The Flood Team's owner.
Jackson then put money meant for the business in the old account and wrote checks from the account, payable to herself.
In January 2013 Jackson pleaded guilty to one felony count of bank fraud.
