BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged two people in connection to a meth lab bust that occurred Thursday morning in an East Carondelet neighborhood.
According to Lt. Kurt Eversman, a spokesman for the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department, several police agencies and a tactical unit executed a search warrant on the home in the 900 block of Illinois Avenue at 7:15 a.m.
In July, the sheriff's drug tactical unit received information that methamphetamines were being manufactured and sold at that address. Investigators were eventually able to gather enough evidence to obtain a search warrant.
Authorities discovered evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing and chemicals on the property, as well as five active shake and bake meth labs.
Prosecutors charged 50-year-old Norman McMillan with aggravated participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamines, and unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon. He remains jailed on a $900,000 bond.
A second person, 31-year-old Roxanne Cole, was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine. She's been jailed on a $100,000 bond.
