ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Missouri Department of Transportation started to improve roadways Monday as part of the CityArchRiver 2015 project.
The road improvements will lead to the "Park Over the Highway," which will connect the Gateway Arch grounds to the City of St. Louis.
The work involves access to the Martin Luther King Bridge, Washington Avenue, and Memorial Drive between Pine and the MLK Bridge. There will be daily lane closures from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. underneath Interstate 70 at the MLK Bridge.
Work is not expected to affect people visiting the Arch or other locations.
Later this year, MoDOT will begin to change how traffic gets onto I-70 downtown.
