HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) - School districts are making changes due to increased temperatures.
Hazelwood School District is moving the start time of two football games this Saturday to 10 a.m. instead of 1 p.m.
Those two games are Webster Groves at Hazelwood Central and McCluer High School at Hazelwood East High School.
Practices until then are being altered to maintain the health of the players.
Monday, due to the district's "heat policy," it was too warm for players to wear pads, so the players only wore their helmets and just walked through most plays.
"The weather has been so nice all summer, unseasonably nice that the kids just aren't really used to it yet," Hazelwood Central Athletic Director John Pukala said.
"Didn't really want to come outside at first, but gameday it is going to be worth it," junior varsity player Adonis Wings said.
The district monitors the temperature and heat index every 30 minutes during practices.
