KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KSDK) - A Kansas City Democrat has stepped down from his leadership position in the Missouri State House.
The move comes one day after state Rep. Jeremy LaFaver was arrested in Boone County. During a traffic stop officers found up to 1.2 ounces of pot and a marijuana pipe in LaFaver's car.
He apologized in a statement hours later, and said he was not operating the vehicle under the influence.
