ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Hundreds of people used to die and thousands more would get sick in this country ever year because of measles.

The serious illness that caused epidemics in the U.S. Was almost wiped out when a vaccine became available in 1963 - until now.

Nearly 160 cases have been reported so far this year, with the biggest outbreak tied to a mega-church in Texas.
