St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Firefighters called for a first alarm shortly after arriving to a vacant two family flat that was filled with smoke early Tuesday.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but investigators say it started somewhere in the basement of the vacant brick building in the 4100 block of South Compton.
Fire officials got the call just before 5:00 a.m. and began a search inside the two story building but found no one inside and say the building appeared to be vacant.
No injuries reported. Compton was blocked for a time between Meramec and Gasconade while firefighters were on the scene.
