CNN - If it was your job to sit in on committees and hearings all day, you might get a little bored sometimes too... even if the hearing was on a heavy topic like Syria.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) was caught red-handed playing poker on his iPhone during Tuesday's Senate committee hearing on whether the U.S. should launch a military strike on Syria.
A Washington Post photographer snapped a photo and posted it online.
Here's what McCain had to say.
"As much as I like to always listen in rapt attention constantly with remarks of my colleagues over a three-and-a-half hour period, occasionally I get a little bored (laughs) and so I resorted," he said. "But the worst thing about it is I lost thousands of dollars in this game. I lost thousands of dollars. Well, you know, it was a poker game and you know you play with play money, you know in the game."
Right after the photographer posted the photo, McCain tweeted, "Scandal! Caught playing iPhone came during 3+ hour senate hearing. Worst of all? I lost!"
