Berger, MO (KSDK) - The body of the man who fell out of a boat while fishing near Berger, Mo. was found Monday two miles away from where he first hit the water.
Scott Shockley, 48, from Chamois was first reported missing at around 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Sergeant Chris Patton with the Missouri Highway Patrol says he was spending the weekend on the river camping and fishing with family and friends.
A volunteer firefighter found Shockley's body at mile marker 91 at around 1 p.m. Monday.
On Sunday morning, Shockley and his two sons were running a trot line when their boat became tangled.
"Ended up knocking the father into the water, the one son then jumped in the water and tried to save him he was unable to do so," Patton said. "It was a real strong current at that location and he went under."
