FARMINGTON, Mo. (AP) - Two more people have been charged in connection with the killing of a tattoo artist whose remains were found this summer in a septic tank.
Forty-two-year-old Brent Tyler Bouren of St. Louis was charged Friday with second-degree murder in the death of Samuel Francis. Also Friday, 43-three-year-old Otto Plopper of French Village was charged with felony of abandonment of a corpse.
A third man, Melvin Scherrer, was charged last month in Francis' killing. Online court records show that neither Bouren nor Plopper has an attorney. Scherrer's attorney declined to comment.
The probable cause statement says witnesses reported that Bouren watched and participated in a baseball bat attack on the tattoo artist. The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Mo., reports that Plopper admitted to helping dispose of Francis' body.
