EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - A jury sentenced a Dupo man to 78 months in federal prison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton said.
A jury found Jacob Nelson, 32, guilty of federal counts relating to maintaining drug involved premises and unlawfully possessing two firearms Monday. He was acquitted of a charge of distributing heroin with death resulting.
After his release, Nelson will be ordered to pay a fine of $1,500 and to pay special assessments of $300.
During the trial, his neighbors testified that he sold heroin, cocaine and marijuana all day, every day between July 2010 and July 2011.
