ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers say a man who was doing yard maintenance near a church was killed Thursday morning after being hit by an out of control car.
Authorities are in the process of reconstructing the accident that happened around 7:30 on Highway 94 at Church Street in St. Charles County.
Troopers say a southbound car went out of control on a curve, drove off the pavement and into an embankment. The impact then flipped the vehicle over and as it was rolling over, it struck a man doing lawn work at a nearby church.
The driver of the car, an unidentified woman, was injured and taken to an area hospital.
The name of the man killed is being withheld pending notification of his family.
