ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Nestle Purina kicked off fundraising for United Way Thursday by hosting a doggie fashion show.
NewsChannel 5's Pat McGonigle and Jennifer Blome were lucky enough to be asked to emcee the event, which featured dogs in costumes, which included a cowboy, a '90s Madonna, a Village People member, Billy Idol, and even Bob Marley!
Pat says all of the dogs were great, but the Chihuahua dressed as a cowboy kept taking his cute little hat off.
Employees at Nestle Purina are allowed to bring their pets to work every day, though its mostly just dogs who show up. For some reason, the cats don't want to go to work. The dogs enjoy it because they spend the days napping and getting oodles of belly rubs.
Employees also put together bags of treats for the canines at Support Dogs, Inc. The dogs go through extensive training and then are placed with people with disabilities.
