ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged a 50-year-old for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
According to Officer Randy Vaughn, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, Derrick Lowery was charged with six counts of first-degree statutory sodomy and four counts of first-degree child molestation. He's in police custody on a $150,000 bond.
It's believed Lowery had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, a girl under the age of 12, between July 1, 2011 and July 13, 2013.
Vaughn said Lowery was acquainted with the victim's family. Investigators believe Lowery may have had access to other children, and so they are reaching out to ask if there could be any more victims.
