The Tin Woodsman (Jack Haley), Dorothy (Judy Garland), the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) and the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) are back in one-night screenings in Hi-Def on Wednesday and in remastered releases due Sept. 29.
KSDK - The classic film "The Wizard of Oz" turns 75 this week - and we're about to see Dorothy, Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion like we've never seen before.
The 1939 film revolutionized the use of color, and now, the studio hopes to add another layer though the power of 3D.
It will have a limited run in IMAX theaters, starting Friday.
Local theaters carrying the IMAX 3D version are St. Louis Mills, Ronnies, Chesterfield 14 and Showplace 12 in Edwardsville.
Warner Brothers will also release a five-disc anniversary edition featuring a 3D copy.
