COLUMBIA, Mo. (KSDK) - A former state prosecutor and Senate Appropriations Chairman has announced his intentions to seek the seat of Missouri Attorney General.
Kurt Schaefer said he would seek the Republican nomination for the seat in 2016. He has previously served as former assistant Missouri attorney general and special assistant United States attorney.
He is currently serving in his second term as senator from the state's 19th District, which covers Boone and Cooper Counties in central Missouri, and is the first to publicly announce his intentions.
