COLUMBIA, Ill. (KSDK) - Hundreds of thousands of dollars set aside to buy a park is missing in Columbia, Ill.

The $385,000 was part of a transaction between the city and the Columbia American Legion Post. The city is buying the American Legion Memorial Park, but the money never made it from the title company to the American Legion bank account.

"It's frustrating that they haven't paid the money yet and we're very hopeful that it will come any day," said Albert Hudzik, Columbia city administrator.

The Metro-East Title Company and the American Legion are not commenting.
